MARY MCCORMICK – Annie Wilkes
Mary is very honored to have the opportunity of bringing Annie Wilkes to life with LRCT this fall. Her previous LRCT roles include Judy Bernly in 9 to 5 as well as Atina and a tapping gull in this past summer’s The Little Mermaid. She spent many years of her childhood and high school life on stage and backstage but took a long hiatus until LRCT welcomed her so warmly back to the world of theater. She also had the pleasure of working with the LRHS students backstage for their productions last year and looks forward to continuing to support them with their upcoming shows.
In the free time she has outside of her theater life, Mary enjoys going to all the minor league sporting events she can and appreciates the beauty of Maine’s changing seasons on her daily walk in the woods with her dog, Scout (no matter the weather!). Mary would like to thank everyone who has supported her and helped her prepare for this role, especially her parents as well as the cast and production team. She truly could not have done it without them and she hopes you all enjoy the show! Now as Annie would say, “Pease forgive me for prattling away and making you feel all oogie!”.

ANDY WHETZEL – Paul Sheldon
Andy is thrilled to return to the stage with Lake Region Community Theatre as legendary writer Paul Sheldon in Misery. Audiences may recognize him from LRCT’s recent productions of Beauty and the Beast, 9 to 5, and The Little Mermaid. Andy is excited to take on a very different kind of role and has enjoyed delving into the character of Paul Sheldon while helping bring Stephen King’s beloved horror classic to life alongside an incredible director, cast, and crew.
Offstage, Andy works as an Account Manager at Chalmers Insurance Group and, when he’s not working or rehearsing, loves spending time with his wife, Ellie, and their children, Leo and Eva. He hopes that by the final scene, you’ll be Misery’s #1 fan.

BRAD WEARS – Buster
Brad is excited to be back on stage with LRCT in his fourth show. He performed in the Sound of Music alongside two of his seven children, Beauty and the Beast and the Little Mermaid. He has fun, not only on stage, but behind the scenes as well. This particular role has been a blast for Brad, he really hopes you enjoy the show!
Brad enjoys time with family and all things outdoors - from the mountains to the lake. He’s happy on any board. Brad is a Postmaster for the US Postal Service. He is grateful to do something he enjoys while not at his real job.
CHRIS MADURA - Director/Set Design
This is Chris’s directorial debut. Misery is a show he’s wanted to do for a while, and he’s excited to finally bring it to the stage.Chris has been involved with Lake Region Community Theatre since 2008 and has participated in nearly 50 productions over the past 20 years, including more than a decade of service on LRCT’s Board of Directors.
While Chris enjoys being on stage, these days he can usually be found behind the scenes, stage managing, designing and building sets, and helping bring productions to life for both LRCT and Lake Region High School Drama.
Some of his favorite onstage roles include Captain von Trapp in LRCT’s The Sound of Music, Gomez Addams in LRCT’s The Addams Family, Seymour Krelborn in Arts & Motion’s Little Shop of Horrors, and Moritz Stiefel in M&D’s Spring Awakening.
When he manages to find some free time, Chris enjoys gardening and spending time with his partner, Stephen.
Chris would like to thank the entire cast and crew of Misery for their incredible hard work and dedication, and for making his first experience directing such an enjoyable one. He would also like to thank his family and coworkers for their continued support, and especially Stephen for his encouragement and help bringing the set to life. He truly couldn’t do it without him.Chris hopes you enjoy the show and thanks you for supporting live community theatre!
ZOE SILVIA – Stage Manager
While Zoe has done over 10 shows with Lake Region Community Theatre, this is her first time Stage Managing with them! After joining LRCT’s Board in 2021, she knew she wanted to further pursue her theatre interests and reached out to local theaters about Stage Managing opportunities. She is thrilled to now be Stage Managing for her home theater — the one that started her passion a decade ago.
When she’s not in a theater somewhere, Zoe can be found working on a handicraft or running Bridgton’s Farmers Market and their Food Access Programs. Zoe would like to thank her sister Mariella, who has always been by her side and supported her. She wouldn’t have made it here without her.
KELLY WINSLOW – Prop Coordinator
Since she was in high school, Kelly Winslow has loved being in theater! She became involved with LRCT in 2012 when she, her daughter and son were in Oliver. Shortly after she was asked to be on the LRCT board and she has been involved ever since! Kelly enjoys coordinating props for shows and having opportunities to be backstage during productions. As a middle school French teacher, she often helps with French accents and pronunciations when the need arises in shows.
Outside of theater, Kelly loves spending time with her husband, children and grandsons! She also enjoys working out, reading, knitting and doing crossword puzzles. She thanks you for coming to support us and hopes you enjoy the creepiness of Misery!
GREG WATKINS – Lighting Design

A 1997 graduate of Lake Region High School, he founded Watkins Entertainment that same year, owning and operating the business to the present day. Through Watkins Entertainment, he spent 13 years as a mobile disc jockey while also serving as a contracted lighting, scenic, and sound designer for theatre, concerts, and large outdoor festivals.

LEW KRAININ – House Manager

Prior to retiring, Lew was a middle and high school special ed educator, as well as property manager and owner of Krainin Real Estate. He also served on several other boards of directors, including three terms on the SAD #61 school board, and Vice President of the ACLU of Maine. Currently, his interests, aside from theater, include politics and social justice.
He is particularly pleased that LRCT has chosen to do this more serious play, and hopes you “enjoy” Misery!
JANET VER PLANCK (JVP) – Producer
JVP has been part of the Lake Region Community Theatre family since 1997, wearing many hats along the way. In her early acting days, she especially loved being part of the ensemble, where she could take on a variety of roles. Over the years, Janet discovered another passion behind the scenes and has since produced more than 30 shows for LRCT, enjoying every one of them!
Along the way, she teamed up with Jyselle Watkins to produce shows at Lake Region High School. After a brief hiatus, Janet has returned to LRHS, where she helps produce both the musicals and spring productions. With LRCT’s support, these collaborations have brought together some wonderfully talented high school students and resulted in many memorable shows.
Janet’s life outside the theater has been just as busy. After moving to Maine in 1982, she spent 25 years teaching Special Education in the Lake Region School District, followed by 11 years at the Casco Town Office. She has also just completed her 38th year working in the office at Camp Agawam. Clearly, slowing down has never been part of the plan!
What makes Janet proudest is not simply the number of shows she has produced, but the quality of the productions, the countless cast members who have shared the journey, and, most of all, the wonderful sense of community that LRCT continues to create.
A sincere thank you to:
