Registration:​

• Details:​

  • While this production will feature a primarily adult cast, we encourage anyone 14 years of age and older to audition!

  • Please pre-register HERE and we will reach out to schedule an audition time.

  • Please arrive 10-15 minutes before your scheduled audition time to fill out audition forms.

  • Be prepared to list any scheduling conflicts that may prevent you from attending rehearsals and show dates from May 1st through August 10th.

  • Resumes and headshots are not required but appreciated. We will be taking your photo at auditions.

  • If you're unable to make it to auditions in-person, please email info@lrctmaine.org and we will provide instructions for a video audition. Video auditions must be submitted by Thursday, April 17th at 6:00pm.

 

Vocal Auditions:

• Time: 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM (By appointment, based on your scheduled time slot)

• Details:

  • Please prepare 16 bars (~30 seconds) from a musical theater song that best fits your voice and range.

  • Bring clearly marked sheet music in the correct key for our music director, John Waldie, who will accompany you on piano during your audition.

  • If you are not comfortable finding your own music or reading music, you may choose from the following pre-selected songs HERE.

  • Note: It is strongly encouraged to find your own music. If you need any help, or have any questions, please email info@lrctmaine.org

  • Singing a cappella will not be permitted.

 

Dance Audition:

• Time: 7:45 PM - 9:00 PM

• Details:

  • Wear clothes you can move in and wear appropriate footwear such as dance shoes or sneakers.

  • During the audition, you will learn a short choreographed routine and perform it in small groups.

  • This portion of the audition is required for all auditionees.

Callbacks:

• Date: Wednesday, April 30th

• Time: 6:00 PM - 8:30 PM

• Details:

  • Callbacks are by invitation only. If you do not receive a callback, it does not mean you are not being considered for a role.

  • Callbacks will consist of reading from the script. You may also be asked to prepare a song from the show.

Do I need to have any previous experience?

One of the great things about theater is that it's open to everyone, regardless of experience. Whether you're an established actor or a beginner looking to try something new, we encourage you to audition!

​

What is a callback?

A callback is where the director might want to see you perform from the script, respond to direction, or work with another actor to feel out how you would fit in the production. Call backs are invitation only. If you don't receive a callback, it does not necessarily mean you won't be cast!

When are rehearsals?

Rehearsals are typically scheduled 2 or 3 evenings during the week and some Saturday mornings. Rehearsals may be extended closer to opening. Not everyone is called for all rehearsals.
